I've been on the quest for the perfect pair of lined shorts for summer and in general working out.Being a plus sized lady, who is active but with muscular yet soft thighs, it can be hard to find women's shorts that are long enough or have a liner that is any where near long enough to be comfortable and provide chub rub protection.To start with I wore these to work, it was about 88 degrees at the hottest point in the day in an old warehouse without any fans or air flow. So probably close to 93+ inside. I felt cooler and comfortable despite the heat.I am 5'4" and on me the 5" short comes down above my knee. If I want I can pull up by the waist band and the liner can be closer to mid thigh. I don't mind either length. The outer shell is a nylon feeling material. The color I chose was the purple shade and it is beautiful. I fell into the illusion of the one video where the guy "stretched" the shell so I thought it would have more give when I got them. The outside short has a BIT of diagonal stretch to it, but ultra small to none side to side stretch. For me personally, since I have larger thighs and a butt ( It tends to be the buttock projection and the projection from the quads that make a two round-ish areas ) that needs more stretching ability from the shorts. If the out side short had the same light weight feel, but like a 4 way stretch to them, these would be a home run in my book.The other thing I've noticed about most men's lined shorts are that the liner gusset / crotch gusset is sewn differently than in women's lined shorts. Women's have have the "cross roads" vertical and horizontal crotch seam while the mens have two longer vertical panels sewn together and then sewn into the rest of the short. This gives more width in the crotch area ( not baggy ) and doesn't make it feel like you're going to blow out the seams when you do squats. I wish this was just a common for everyone technique.Oh, the phone or hidden pocket - it needs to be lowered on the leg. I have a pair of women's shorts that are in similar design to these and the pocket sits lower, it's got a wider opening but its not a wide pocket the whole way down. Whatever I put in it is secure - mostly my phone and I don't have to lift up the outside short and feel like I'm giving a show to people just to use the pocket. I like the pocket on my women's short it's very handy. Consider redesigning this pocket for the men.Over all I'll probably buy at least one if not two more pairs of these shorts.
